To introduce the concept, students will brainstorm what they remember from earlier in the year about life cycles of living things (apples and pumpkins).
During this lesson students will learn about the life cycle of a frog using the Prezi below.
Next, students will listen to “Froggy, Froggy!” song to review what they learned in the prezi presentation.
Then, students will work on ordering the life cycle of a frog. They will practice their fine motor skills through cutting and pasting the stages of the life cycle.
Lastly, students will have the opportunity to experience the life cycle first hand. They will observe the tadpoles in our classroom tank over the next month. Students will use magnifying glasses to observe more closely the life cycle of our class frogs. They will record their observations in their journals. Each time they observe students will illustrate with labels and write about the stage the frogs are in.
